Megumi's mother finally makes an appearance, and she's like I figured she'd be, wacky, just like everyone else.

Man, when I first watched this show I couldn't get over how freakin' ugly the art was, but here I am at episode 23, and I don't even think about it anymore (in fact, I like it now). The show is just extremely funny, and all of the characters have such great chemistry, just like another show that I'm fond of.

Yes! This episode flowed so well and again, portrayed the manga perfectly. The kamineko bit near the end (wasn't in the manga) was a bit odd, though. Next week, graduation part one!

Life : Game Time

Onimusha 2 was very disappointing. The still backgrounds just didn't work for me this time around. The character models were so bright they stuck out like a sore thumb. The music was uninspired, felt like ambiance sounds more than anything. The combat was good, the FMV sequences were cool, and the different paths you could take through the game added variety, but as a whole I was bored playing it most of the time. Not to mention the ending. Laaaaaame. But for every bad there's a good...

IKARUGA ROCKS! I've been playing this non-stop for the past week and it just blows me away every time. I love shmups that you can play over and over and always have the same rush you had going through the first time.

This one portrayed the manga perfectly and added quite a few original (and funny) jokes. All of the girls get a good portion of air time as well. Yomi got much love; I was so happy. Next week, the return of MAYA! Thank god they're putting this in the anime.

Life : The sun has set

Well, I beat Mario Sunshine a couple days ago with only 65 shines. The length was quite a disappointment. I figured I would have had to get at least 80 or so before I could venture to the last boss, which was also quite a disappointment. The presentation of the boss itself was really cool, but it was just way way way too easy to beat. The ending was typical, but I do think it's the best Mario game ending out of all his games, which is not really saying much. I hear there's about 120 shines in all for you to collect, but in all honesty, I don't feel like hunting for blue coins and getting 100 yellow coins in each level (but I will try to get other missed shines). So all in all, this was a grade A game, hampered only by its length, which to me is the case with just about all the great games of today's generation.

Anyway, I rented Onimusha 2 today, which I'm playing right now. It's ok so far, but the guy can't walk!? And what the hell happened to the Japanese dialogue/English subtitles option!? These are some of the worst voices I've ever heard in my life.

Kiyotaka Ohata, director of episodes 5 and 10, returns! Long silences and repetition in jokes are his forte. And I've grown to love it. So naturally this episode rocked. My only minor complaint would be the scene where Yukari blasts Nyamo with her English skills. It was way overdone compared to the manga. Still funny, nonetheless.
