Now my anime watching habits are being screwed up by SERIOUS GAMING!

Castlevania ~Akatsuki no Minuet~ Game Boy Advance
YES! Finally we get Gekka no Yasoukyoku lite! This is how you PROPERLY port a Metroid style Dracula game to the small screen. Whips are gone (leave the whips for the traditional style gameplay I say), crap music is gone, and the ridiculous blue outline around your character is gone! The traditional sub-weapons are gone too! That one I was a bit sad about, but it was replaced with a very nifty soul orb system so it's ok. As for the graphics they're pretty much the same quality as crappy Hakuya before it, but with much better use of colors. The bosses aren't much better than Hakuya OR Circle, but as usual there's some gems in the pile. Now what HAS improved big time is the music! Michiru Yamane has saved us from the evils of the dude that did Hakuya. Granted the tracks still aren't as memorable as Gekka, especially the boss music, but obviously you can't expect them to be. There IS one music that had me going nuts though. She remixed Yoru Made Matenai from the Dracula arcade game! It's about freakin' time! And moreover, halfway through the track it turns into Heart of Fire from the first Famicom game! I like it so much I'm puttin' it up for download here! Get! And get this game too!

This years E3 is closing in and Sega has released their 20 game line-up for the show. There's a new Sonic game for PS2, Gamecube, AND Xbox coming out called Sonic Heroes! Think Lost Vikings in 3D, with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. I can't wait. And it'll be interesting to see how they keep the speed aspect in.

Other games I'm looking forward to on their list are Juuouki, Vectorman, Kunoichi, and Billy Hatcher. The new Headhunter looks pretty good but I didn't like the first one all that much. And Virtual On Marz will be cool...I guess.

On a similar note, games that I'm REALLY looking forward to this year that aren't by Sega: MOTHER 3, Silent Hill 3, Viewtiful Joe, Crystal Chronicles, the new Castlevania, Doom III, and SNK vs Capcom. Being the Rockman nut I am, I should add Rockman X7 to that list, but it just looks so crappy! Argh.

Sigh, being in the hospital totally screwed up my anime watching habits. Slowly but surely I suppose.

TEXHNOLYZE episode 1
I didn't have many thoughts after watching this show because the silence sucked the life out of me. There was like a total of ten lines of dialogue in the whole thing! But it WAS telling a story in all the silence and I actually found it quite interesting; so, I will continue to watch it. Just give me more dialogue dammit!

Sonic X episode 1
This show has really nice animation at times, I was surprised. The first few minutes of the ep took place in Sonic's world, which was awesome, but then for story purposes he promptly gets teleported to the human world! Humans and Sonic don't mix! It was stupid in the Sonic Adventure games and it's stupid now. Ah well, I'll keep following the show in hopes that he goes back to his OWN world soon and takes some humans or whatever, and they do the show there!

I was hit by a drunk driver while coming home from work on the night of March 15th. I had hip surgery on March 25th and was released from the hospital March 29th. I can't walk on my own for three months. I just wanted to say this in case anyone is actually reading my Yotsubato! scans. It'll be a while before episode 2+ get translated because of my situation. I WILL eventually get them done though.
