Mai-HiME #19

Not too much development - just a bad freakin' day for Mai, Mikoto, and Yukino. Mai will be suicidal before we know it. Here's that thing I do, though it's not really neccessary this time. Looks like a lot of brawling going down next week. Just what I've been waiting for!

GIRLS Bravo second season #3

The MAMIKO and Miharu go on a "date." It ends well thanks to Kirie and...Fukuyama? Too much Miharu in this ep for me. Though I don't mind her as much when she's being clueless ecchi...

JINKI:EXTEND #6

Aoba is all about love and peace with Shounen Jump, until he gets sniped by Shizuka. Now it's ON. I'm thinking the next episode will be the last for this timeline.
I've been seeing a lot of hatred for the recent episodes from manga purists on various Japanese BBSes and blogs. The anime seems to be manhandling the manga storyline pretty badly to (I assume) get it all to fit within 13 episodes. I didn't read any specifics so as to not sway my experience watching the show, but even from someone who's never touched the manga (me), this particular episode felt extremely rushed. The lovey dovey scene between Aoba and Kouse was downright cheesy, considering she's known him for less than an episode. The fact that his character has barely had any development at all makes it even worse. Am I supposed to care what happens to this kid?
It's best not to think about it I guess. I'm only supposed to be watching this for Aoba anyway!

Misunderstood nude posing, Megane vs Hige, and an odd segment about shooting stars. Funny stuff, but where were the nude poses for Eri and Ichijou!?

A very persistent man is after Junko. She eventually convinces Suna to help her get rid of him, but ends up getting captured in the end anyway. Not much fun time was had with Junko here, since most of the episode was spent fleeing from her pursuer. But all I care is that she's back~

Tsukuyomi -MOON PHASE- #18

Eight months have passed since the previous episode. Haduki has been living peacefully at a shrine with the samurai helmet sisters, while Kouhei secluded himself in the nearby mountains to train his hocus pocus powers. The day comes when Haduki is allowed to go visit Kouhei. She finds that he's still a dork, only less spiritually challenged. Then we get introduced to a mystery character and three new villains! Vargas, Jeda, and loli queen Alto.
Another loli! It's going to be Nanoha all over again, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Shiratori learns what makes Radiation Head and Sayoko tick by helping them with one of their odd jobs. This managed to be touching despite the wackiness of the characters involved.

Vivienne defeats Kinnikuman Megami Mask with the help of Silk and a Boin Buster. Vivienne got a transformation sequence this time too. It wasn't as ecchi as it should of been, though.
They hinted at it in the previous episode, but it's made pretty obvious here that Vivienne has feelings for Silk that go beyond friendship. I wholeheartedly approve of this development.

Reo fakes a leg injury during his generic rock performance to get into the hospital where he uses his alice and Agent Smith to kidnap Natsume. Mikan and Sumire manage to escape from the school to pursue them.
Compared to previous episodes, the animation in this one was quite bad and inconsistent in many areas, but I thought the story material and direction made up for it. I'm happy that they teamed up Mikan with Sumire rather than with the obvious choice. Hopefully the rescue attempt will develop her character more and yank that stick out of her ass.

Oh my goodness. This was wonderful. May be a bit too slow for others, though. I usually spout off what an episode was about without concern, but I enjoyed this one so much I think I'll keep my mouth shut. All I'll say is that it's going to be hell waiting a week for the second half.

Who will be the first to go? Nao or Midori? More questions than answers here, as usual. Ishigami seems like he's going to be a big player after all. I made another bullet summary thing because they're fun. But I put it on a seperate page this time since it got kind of long.

GIRLS Bravo second season #2

Yup. Better than last week's. Better than every ep in the first season too, simply because it focuses around my two favorite characters and there's minimal Fukuyama. I appreciate him being the catalyst for boobage, but I prefer he not stick around afterwards.

JINKI:EXTEND #5

Genta takes on a foe from the past while Aoba meets a nice kid who turns out to be her "enemy." Now she doesn't want to fight anymore. EXTEND segments continue to be lame.
I forgot to mention this last week, but the OP, which now seems to be complete, is a tribute to the first Gundam TV series' OP. Good comparison shots can be found at Houtou Opera House, below the entry for this episode. The ED is a tribute to Mazinger Z's ED. I made a few comparison shots of the first part. The rest is the same as well, except Mazinger has an x-ray view showing the innards of the robot. I think the JINKI ED will add that in the future.
Now for some bad news. (And you should know by now this page is spoileriffic. hint hint) I was originally told that Aoba is Shiba, but it seems I was told WRONG(bastard! last time I take your word for anything!), as I was doing a little reading about the show on some Japanese pages and found out that Aoba is NOT Shiba. Tohoho, it saddens me because that means Aoba is going to get less and less airtime as the show moves on, unless they never fully reach the EXTEND time period...

Ichijou~! I don't like the Karerin nickname Tenma uses for her. It sounds too much like calorie, which Ichijou BURNS with cute power. But anyway, yeah, she was adorable here. How can that idiot call her an alien!? Unacceptable!
They replaced the ED with a specially made OP theme and animation for the sentai movie she and dumbass watched on their date. It's called Hatenkou Robo Dozibiron. They even used Rumble's seiyuu's names for the five "actors," only replacing the first kanji in everyone's name with the kanji of their corresponding color. I laughed hard at its awesomeness. This 1:20sec clip was better than all of Musumet (minus Shion).

Natsuko's entire mission was just a decoy, but that didn't stop Suna from making the most of it. And it turns out he and Natsuko were only good childhood friends from HIS point of view. She despised him. With good reason.
Very fun two parter. Next week Junko's back!

Natsume gets grazed by a bullet during his Symphony of the Night, yet still manages to help Mikan twice the next day before passing out. What a trooper!
They're really piling on the mysteries in this show. Now we have Natsume doing black ops and this Reo character. What happened to last week's stuff? I wanted to see Fruit Loop visiting Mikan's grandpa. All in due time I guess.

Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu #1

Mostly entertaining. I was a bit disappointed with the animation quality, being an OVA and all. It also felt rushed at times, but that's expected since they're trying to cover all four volumes of the novel in six episodes. No problems with anything else, though. Iriya is super cute and I look forward to seeing how things progress story-wise, especially with the relationship between the two leads.

Tsukuyomi -MOON PHASE- #17

Erofriede tells Gramps about her sad past then Super Mario Brother comes to the house to get Haduki. Gramps and Ero distract him while Kouhei and Haduki make a run for it. Then Gramps puts a barrier around the house and sets the whole place on fire with himself, Ero, and Mario all trapped inside.
Great stuff! The tension at the end of the episode was amazing. But this better not be the last of Erofriede! I was just starting to like her!
