Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan #1-2

Angels that get a severe case of diarrhea when you yank the halos off their heads. Only in Japan. I made a separate entry.

Gakuen Alice #18

I wasn't really feeling this episode. Mikan was cool as always, but I don't like this love triangle they're brewing for her. I suppose it was inevitable, though.

Debochiiiiiiin! At least you went out with style and grace. Plus you broke Shizuru in the process. Bravo! Oh, right, other stuff happened too. Here's the summary.

GIRLS Bravo second season #7

I think Fukuyama Mah-Jongg could catch on fairly easy in the real world, as long as it's played by hot ladies who always lose. Always.

JINKI:EXTEND #10

Shiba successfully becomes one with Akao and begins her city wide destruction plan. The current good guys are useless since her Jinki is kind of big. So it's up to Aoba! But apparently she's still on her way, because she didn't show up at all in this episode. *grumble*

School Rumble #23

The taiikusai concludes. Harima's baldness is revealed and of course, no one cares. He even gets to dance with Eri. I wish she'd stop trying with him - it's a lost cause. And Tenma needs to stop with Karasuma, because he's boring. Wait, why am I saying this now? There's only one episode left. (Update: It got bumped up to 26!)

Half a year has passed since episode 20. Taiko the student has become Taiko the teacher. As much as I liked this episode, and as much as I love Taiko, she just feels incomplete without the Suna man. Hope he's not gone for good.

Tsukuyomi -MOON PHASE- #22

Kouhei gets his powers unsealed and turns from lolicon to loliphobe. On a more important note, Heidi chumps Seiji! Rock on Heidi, we know who the real badass in this show is.

The see you next time guest pic (courtesy of ~lolipuni~) this week was drawn by Nishida. He handles the cover art of one of my favorite ero magazines, Comic Megastore H. I approve of his Erofriede depiction.

Samurai Champloo #24

The government wants our heroes dead because they're getting too close to Fuu's father, who they also want dead. Another godly assassin, Kariya, is sent their way. Meanwhile, three other ragtag assassins (one guest voiced by the always cool Takehito Koyasu) SEEM to be after Mugen for a crime he committed unknowingly, which he first revealed the details of in this episode. He killed an old ex-Shogun after the guy showed him his crest. This was a sort of parody of the long running (and still going) Japanese TV show Mito Komon. If you read the description on that page, you should get the joke. I found it pretty funny, especially the way Mugen just casually tells the story.

Anyway, after reflecting on their pasts around a campfire then eating lunch in town, Fuu writes the boys a Dear John and goes to Ikitsuki Island by herself, since she can't stand to say goodbye to them. Once there she finds out where her father is through a local villager, but on the way to see him the three ragtags show up with intent on killing her. So maybe they're not just after Mugen? The episode ends with Fuu in a crisis and M/J about to fight the godly assassin back at the seaside town. And I thought the cliffhanger at the end of 20 was bad!

Two unnecessary drag queens in a week! I guess I can consider it killing two birds with one stone. I do think the aspect was handled better in Bravo than in this show, however. While Yukinari was convinced to wear his crap, Shiratori was simply forced into it. He could've put his foot down at any time and gotten out of it, but instead he chooses to prance around the city. I will never understand the enigma that is the love comedy male protagonist.

Thankfully after the semi-annoying first half, Chiyuri shows up. Female-loving hentai Chiyuri is definitely my favorite of Kozue's alternate personalities. Even though they toned down her hentai-ness a bit from the manga, what they left was still great. Satomi Arai's voice for her was excellent, too. Her personality doesn't require drastic changes in speech pattern so it just sounded like an outgoing version of Kozue.

Vivi forces Silk to hang out with Camera Boy while she finishes off the Buddha statue from the previous ep with yuri power. She gets a Silk lap nap for her troubles~ Now that's what I'm talking about: progress. Though misconstrued, it's still progress!

Gakuen Alice #17

I've tried to watch the last segment of this at least five times and I just can't get through it without my eyes watering up. Damn you and your sappy past, Hotaru! Damn you and your heartwarming shoujo entertainment, Gakuen Alice!

GIRLS Bravo second season #6

Thank goodness Yukinari is voiced by a goddess or this ep would have been dead in the water, regardless of the animated seiyuu and very funny Fukuyama discovery sequence. Seeing Yukinari in drag annoys me, because it makes me think how much better the show would be if he really was a girl, with the same storyline intact. *wink wink*

And why in the world did they animate Masayo Kurata over Mamiko!? No offense to Kurata, but she's barely been in this season!

Mai-HiME #22

Very entertaining. The scene with Shizuru and gang got my heart pumping quick. Hooray for catfights. Or in this case, impending catfights, I guess. The quality of the art and animation in the ep was quite high too. Here's the usual he said she said summary.

JINKI:EXTEND #9

Mel J exacts her revenge and joins Anhel, Shiba gains control of Akao, and the directors finally say "Screw this double timeline crap! Let's go ahead and put these fools together." So now we have Aoba coming to Japan. In her brief appearance, she quickly summarizes what happened in the YEARS we missed out on in her timeline. Lame. Oh well. I'm just glad she's back~ And that time has been kind to her~

School Rumble #22

I think I've seen enough kibasen to last me a lifetime now. Granted it was funny, and had a bucketful of Eri, but...that was a lot of kibasen.

Sunabouzu #20

The fast-forward button is used on the plot to make way for dramatic action sequences complete with mellow insert song and the "death" of a hero. Awesome ep! And Chiwa Saitou reminds everyone why she's one of the best out there with her performance in the final scenes, especially when she bitchslapped Natsuko. Yeah!

Tsukuyomi -MOON PHASE- #21

Hikaru gets her first kiss and abduction, Erofriede shows up looking more ero, Seiji continues on his path to suckville, and Alto outscores her -half sister- Haduki on the cute scale.

I wasn't expecting them to be sisters. It actually makes Alto into a sympathetic character now, since it turns out she's the "neglected" one. She only wants a little TLC in her life! Why must fate be so cruel!?
